Street Strut

Happy 1 month of living here!

Exploring the streets of New York has been nothing short of interesting. I walk almost everywhere, no matter how far. Let's face it, $2.75 for one subway trip is rather pricey. But, that's just me. Besides, I'm also taking advantage of any walking I can do before the winter comes, because winter in the city spares no one.

Of course, daily adventures. I have to impart my explorations with you. I have way too many to fit in this one post. So, I'll be posting another Update blog post very soon, compiling many of the things I've been up to (like the fashion show I've been to)! (I'm also more up to date on Instagram, so do follow me there!)

These photos were taken a few weeks back. I've probably over-used these harem pants, but they're just so versatile! A classic black and white with a statement necklace. Both my top and bottoms are slightly loose and carefree, creating this silhouette that I've grown to love. Finishing it off with classic black boots is just classic, because I haven't said 'classic' enough.

*If you guys remember Jeru Sanchez, my photographer, from my other post, two of his photos were recently added to VSCO's Say Hello collection ( http://sayhello.vsco.co/collection/1 )! I am so proud of him and all of you should spot two of his photos! He has also been given honors by VSCO for several other photos, so a very big congratulations to this talented man.

Also, if anyone has seen it, freak out with me. The Fendi 2016 Fashion Show held in Milan has to be one of the best fashion lines this season. The way Karl Lagerfield worked with the silhouettes and played around with it pushes women to go beyond the outside of their box and creating something beautiful. They're all very wearable too! I would wear any of those pieces tomorrow (if only I could afford them).

Also, also, I missed André Leon Talley's book signing at Rizzoli (my favorite bookstore in the city). I didn't even know until the day after, (tears). If anyone has the time to stop buy, Rizzoli is on 5th Ave. It's so beautiful in there and I found lovely books.

Behind the scenes, living in New York City also has taken a big toll on me, emotionally and in my faith. I've been posting all of the good stuff, but there are scenes behind all of the happy scenes. I'd just like to encourage you. To those who aren't happy with where they are, or to those who are struggling with where they are. The Lord brought you there and He has been there before bringing you. Think about that and enjoy this lovely view of Manhattan from the Brooklyn Bridge Park.

God bless!

Soul Anchor 2015: The Movement

The hour drive to Newark, the 6 hour flight to LAX, the hour drive to the WIN LA building, the 2 hour drive up to the mountains of Yucaipa to the campsite, Oak Glen.
All this traveling and fatigue was worth it, for when we experienced that first night, we felt the wonderful presence of the Lord. And to this day, it hasn't left us. And for the rest of our lives, we'll continue to feel His presence and we'll continue to run to Him always.

For we are a generation called. For we are a generation sanctified and set apart. For we are the generation that will start this movement. The movement our Savior, Jesus Christ, started 2000 years ago. And we are here. We are here to continue this mission that He has left for us to fulfill. He is coming. And we should be ready.

"For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified."
Romans 8:28-30

The video above is by our very own Jeru Sanchez, starring some of our youth delegates. Very proud of them and how much we've grown in the past two years.
It was a blessing for us to meet and experience other believers. We've been inspired in serving God so much more. To be in the presence of others who love and serve God is just simply wonderful. I'm just in awe and this is only the first glimpse of the Heaven.

*Some aren't the best quality photos, but the experience is definitely a high def one.

Thank You, Lord, for this wonderful experience. Without You, this would all be for nothing. But thank You for a magnificent God like You, who came down for us and made us worthy.
Thank you, Soul Anchor and the whole committee.

Black on black // Easter Sunday

Happy, happy Easter Sunday to all!

Celebrating, our Savior, Jesus Christ's resurrection. He has conquered death and he has freed us from the chains that bound us to sin; the chains that keep us away from our Lord.

"My chains are gone.
I've been set free.
My God, my Savior has ransomed me,
And like a flood,
His mercy reigns.
Unending love, Amazing Grace."

//

On this Resurrection Sunday, WCFI, or WIN-NJ, presented a Choir presentation and blacklight performance for our Lord. Months of hard work paid off! Thank you to all who made this possible: Tita Ces, the Pastors, the WCFI Choir, iGen Youth, the ushers, the LAV. And, of course, thank you, Lord, because You are the reason for this day's celebration.

(This is the reason why I was in all black. Youths presented the Blacklight Presentation! Shoutout to Tita Ces, Jeru and Kathleen!)

Oh, and also THIS HAPPENED! It came around 2 weeks ago, and I'm still in shock! I'll be living in New York City this Fall and I'll be studying something I'm really passionate about!
Thank you, Lord! To God be the Glory!

On top of that, I'll be going on my Choir Trip to Germany and Prague tomorrow! The start of Spring has been one blooming with blessings. My cup overflows.

Have yourself a wonderful Spring Break!
God bless!

To 2015

Happy New Year, everyone!
(Yes, I know I'm like 7 days late. But anyhoots,..)
Every year that passes by just makes me so excited for a fresh, new year and fresh, new discoveries I will make about God's plan for my life.
It's been a pretty long year and I've accomplished and grown so much. I've grown bonds with so many people and I couldn't be happier. Towards the second half of 2014, I found myself being more jolly and happy than I usually am. God has definitely blessed me. He always has and I will be forever grateful for His works in my life.
There were definitely moments in 2014 where I just didn't want to relive or even remember, but I'm glad that I went through all of those moments. I've definitely grown so much.

Now, to 2015.
Oh, you know how I feel about 2015. #ClassOf2015
I'm graduating high school!
There are so many things happening this year and I just know that it'd be my favorite year. Spring Musical Legally Blonde, Germany/Prague trip, Senior Prom, High School Graduation, National Youth Camp, Youth/Family Camp, College, living in New York City.
Those are just the planned ones. What more, the unplanned ones.
I am beyond thrilled. Especially knowing that I'll be going through it with my family, friends and a special bear.
It's also a pretty nerve-wrecking year, since I'll be living without my family by September. Committing to a college is pretty crazy too. All that pressure on you.
Welllll...

Here's to 2015.
To all the good times and bad.
To all the laughter and tears.
To all the love we'll give and receive.
To all the expected and unexpected events.

"For I know the plans I have for you.
Plans to prosper you and not to harm you.
Plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11

Created.

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you
before you were born I set you apart."

Jeremiah 1:5

We live in a very loud world. So loud that we can't even hear ourselves.
Stop. Pause. Think.
Who am I?
What was I created for?

Amidst the chaos of this world, remember your Creator.
We get so lost in this noisy, loud world. So lost that we forget what we're here for.
Before we were born, God already knew our whole life story.
He loved us that much. He loved us so much that He, the perfect author, knitted together our beautiful life story. He took the time to do all of that just for you: His child.

And, in the end, when you're sighing your last breath, you'll see how amazing God has planned out your life; how amazing and loving our God is.
I was created. I was created to be His chosen people. His daughter.
To be holy. To be a messenger for this world. To be a light for those in the darkness.
All of me, my distinct characteristics, my talents, my weaknesses are all for His glory.
God will gladly use all of this for His kingdom.
"Here I am, Lord, use me  for your glory."

I know who I am. The world will not dictate how I should be.
I am His. I am a daughter of God.
I will stand firm. Stand firm for God, even when the whole world doesn't. I'm willing to give up everything and anything for God.
Because I know what I was created for.

August 7, 2014

I visited Parsons for a college tour yesterday!
The campus is pretty amazing, definitely embodying creativity and design.
Parsons is the top (or one of the top) fashion school in the world.

I fall in love with New York City, every time. I'm improving in my nyc-navigation too.

We, unintentionally, passed by Pratt Institute, as well.
Pratt is also one of the top fashion schools.

Right beside this building is the Salvation Army, where they were about to hold the MisFit conference 2014. Hillsong Young & Free, Andy Mineo and a few other Christian speakers and artists were right there!

nyc adventures with my dad, who never fails to go with me.

Game Plan

Game Plan

Fashion is my way of expressing myself and experimenting with different styles. I am very passionate about fabrics, business, selling and meeting new people. My game plan is to, one day, open up my own business and make it big in New York, first. Then, I would go national and hopefully, international. I know my dream is going to be near impossible and very hard but I know that I will study hard and work hard to do everything in my power to achieve this dream.
The Lord has a perfect plan. It may not be what I have above but I know that it would be so much better than what I have in mind.

These were shots from around 2 months ago. This white forever 21 dress is very comfy and matches almost anything. It's pretty basic and I love how it's simple. Oh, and it has this amazing texture. I tried to jazz it up with rings, brown leather bracelets and this old, vintage Pilota(?) bag. And, believe it or not, these sandals are my first pair in almost 10 years. I haven't owned one since I was like 5.

(I'm gonna have waaaay more time to blog and hold photo shoots. Hit me up if you wanna hold one with me.
I really wanna experiment with my photography too, I'm pretty bad.
Please, please. If you have free time, just email me or somethin'.
