The Thing About Texture

Textures are rather intriguing. It can certainly elevate a monochromatic outfit, and simultaneously work hand in hand with the minimalistic nature of black and white. Use it to your advantage when combining an outfit.

The feeling given by texture gives clothes character; their personalities. The smooth rustic feel of suede. The sleek fluff of faux fur. The hills and valleys of a chunky knit sweater. The roughness of this grey top I have on. Who wouldn't want clothes that have personality?

And before I end, I'd like to pay tribute to the fashion world's most humble and iconic street photographer. Rest in peace, Bill Cunningham. What an impact you've made in the lives of many.
"I'm not interested in celebrities with their free dresses. Look at the clothes, the cut, the silhouette, the color. It's the clothes. Not the celebrity and not the spectacle."
— Bill Cunningham, France's L'Ordre National des Arts et des Lettres, Paris, 2008
